As we continue to expand our presence across the Mediterranean, we are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Business Development professional to join our team in Cairo. This is a pivotal hire at a time when Egypt and the wider region present significant opportunities for our Multi-Client business from upcoming licence rounds and renewed exploration activity, to evolving regulatory landscapes and increasing focus on energy security. We are looking for someone who combines strong geo-political and commercial insight with the relationship-building credibility to engage senior government, regulator, and client stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping how TGS identifies new investment opportunities, develops strategic partnerships, and strengthens its long-standing position in one of the most important regions in our global portfolio. 

Purpose & Scope 

  • Based in Cairo, Egypt, the role will support the growing TGS's Multi-Client business and strengthening strategic government and regulator relationships in Egypt and across the Mediterranean region as directed. 

  • Identify and secure Multi-Client (MC) revenue and library investment opportunities and develop new products and partnerships that align with TGS's strategic goals. 

  • Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the role works closely with the Egypt Country Manager and in partnership with the Contract and Imaging teams to identify business and technical solutions for new and existing clients, with a focus on generating new leads, acquisitions, and partnership opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Help develop new MC opportunities and projects within Egypt in partnership with the BD team, including preparation of investment cases. 

  • Prepare client proposals and presentations for review and discussion with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Work strategically with key client teams to identify and pursue new MC opportunities. 

  • Maintain a deep understanding of client, partner, and competitor activity, gathering market intelligence to identify and assess emerging opportunities. 

  • Help maintain government and regulatory relationships across the region. 

  • Drive MC data marketing and licence agreement renewal activity to agreed timelines. 

  • Navigate government approval processes and timelines across block awards, equity transactions, licence rounds, permitting, seismic acquisitions, drilling, and exploration lifecycles to support deal execution. 

  • Manage contractual commitments throughout the lifespan of MC agreements, including localised marketing activity such as conference presentations and training or local content obligations. 

  • Collaborate with Operations, Legal, Finance, Contract, Imaging, and external partners to develop new opportunities and manage risk. 

  • Support the execution of new project permits where required. 

  • Partner with the global Account Management team to ensure a consistent and aligned client experience. 

  • Contribute to quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting, alongside weekly updates to investment and revenue forecasts.

  • Ability to Influence: Builds strong commitment within the team and influences senior internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and government bodies, on TGS's value proposition. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Geophysics, or a related field. 

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development, ideally within the energy sector. 

  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
