Purpose & Scope

  • Responsible for ensuring that the environmental impact of offshore operations is minimized. Work to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards to develop and implement strategies that reduce the environmental impact of offshore operations. Accountable for communicating and implementing environment related improvement initiatives and programs. 
  • Responsible for the execution of permitting strategy within the country. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Latin America Geo Market Leader and the Country Manager, execute the permit strategy for Brazil. 
  • Develop and monitor annual Environmental objectives for Operations and Technology. 
  • Manage the entire environmental licensing process from inception to completion, including renewing and maintaining valid licenses and authorizations with government agencies.  
  • Assist in the preparation of the seismic vessels when arriving at the area of operation and assist in the execution and monitoring of required technical environmental surveys with the environmental body and clients.  
  • Preparation and participation of informative technical meetings – RTI’s for environmental licensing with interested parties and presence of the environmental body.  
  • Responsible for environmental compliance reporting for the relevant government agencies. 
  • Oversee the external Environmental Contractors/Consultants, collaborate with relevant internal departments to facilitate successful agreements.

 

Qualification

  • Collaboration - Constructively liaises with internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding of technical and business requirements. 
  • Technical Knowledge - Knowledge of seismic industry in relation to key organizations across various territories such as ANP, IBAMA, EnerGeo. 
  • Regulatory Experience - Knowledge of regulatory requirements and legislation related to geophysical and maritime operations. 
  • Permitting Experience - Prior experience working with environmental authorities through the permitting process.
