Role Purpose

Responsible for supporting assigned competencies in OBN, in the instrument, and OBN disciplines. This includes installation but not limited to, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced seismic data acquisition systems both onshore and offshore. The role may involve field support, inventory and asset management, marine IT support, and active participation in engineering and operational projects.

The position requires close collaboration with internal teams and assigned suppliers to ensure optimal equipment performance, lifecycle efficiency, and alignment with TGS’s safety standards and financial targets to improve operational efficiency

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to vessels, crews, and business units across all assigned systems.
  • Support, plan, install, and upgrade new technologies; ensure operational readiness and documentation.
  • Lead and/or participate in mobilization/demobilization, audits, inspections, and emergency response, rigging, de-rigging, yard stays, and field operations globally.
  • Monitor performance efficiency and reduce technical and operational downtime through proactive measures.
  • Support CAPEX/OPEX forecasting for lifecycle optimization and performance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, technical instructions and risk assessments for offshore systems.
  • Develop, support and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and training.
  • Provide input into sales and tender processes regarding technical capabilities and requirements.

 

Key Competencies

  • Strong technical expertise for assigned disciplines inside Instruments, Mechanical, ROV, ROV operations and IT systems.
  • Proven ability to deliver innovative, high-value solutions.
  • Excellent risk management, safety awareness and quality assurance capabilities.
  • Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and system integration.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and adaptable to high workloads and changing priorities.

  • Support and contribute to improvement projects in equipment, procedures, and processes.
  • Support ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) initiatives related to seismic operations and equipment.
  • Optimize quality and performance across planning, execution, and delivery phases.
  • Promote innovation in technology and processes to enhance commercial efficiency.
