Senior Data Analyst

Location: UK / Europe (Hybrid)

Team: Data & Intelligence

Reporting to: Director of Research

Role overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to help transform large, complex datasets into trusted insights that support product development, research, and commercial decision‑making.

This role focuses on working with high‑volume, externally sourced data, much of it public or semi‑structured, and turning it into reliable, well‑documented analytical outputs that can be confidently used by internal teams and customers.

You will play a key role in improving data quality, consistency, and usability across multiple regions and data sources.

Key responsibilities

Data analysis & insight

  • Analyse large, multi‑source datasets to identify trends, patterns, and key signals
  • Produce clear, defensible insights that can be understood by non‑technical stakeholders
  • Support research, product, and commercial teams with high‑quality analytical outputs

Data quality & reliability

  • Identify inconsistencies, gaps, and duplication in externally sourced data
  • Develop validation logic and quality checks to improve confidence and usability
  • Clearly document assumptions, limitations, and confidence levels in analysis

Data sourcing & integration

  • Work with public, regulatory, and third‑party data sources across multiple regions
  • Support the integration of structured, semi‑structured, and document‑based data
  • Contribute to scalable approaches for handling data that varies by geography and source

Collaboration & delivery

  • Partner closely with Research, Product, and Engineering teams to align analysis with user needs
  • Support customer‑facing teams by providing robust, well‑explained data insights when required
  • Communicate findings clearly through written summaries, charts, and presentations

Analytical leadership

  • Set standards for best practice in analysis, documentation, and reproducibility
  • Mentor junior analysts and review analytical work
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of analytical workflows and tooling

Skills & experience

Essential

  • 5+ years’ experience in a data analyst, senior analyst, or similar role
  • Advanced SQL and experience working with large relational datasets
  • Strong Python and/or R for data processing and analysis
  • Experience working with externally sourced or public datasets
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to explain complex analysis clearly and accurately

Desirable

  • Experience in infrastructure, energy, finance, or other data‑intensive industries
  • Familiarity with data visualisation and analytics tooling
  • Experience working with geospatial, time‑series, or document‑linked data
  • Exposure to data quality, entity resolution, or master data challenges

What we’re looking for

  • Someone comfortable working with imperfect, real‑world data
  • A strong sense of ownership for data accuracy and credibility
  • An analyst who balances speed with rigour and transparency
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work across disciplines

What success looks like

  • Stakeholders trust the data and insights you produce
  • Data quality improves measurably over time
  • Analysis is repeatable, transparent, and well‑documented
  • Teams increasingly rely on shared data rather than maintaining their own trackers

At TGS | 4C, we believe diverse perspectives drive better outcomes. We are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer and foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and growth. If you are passionate about contributing to a more sustainable energy future, we’ d love to hear from you. Please submit your application by 04/10/2026.
