Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to provide dedicated geoscience support to TGS Eastern Hemisphere Geoscience Projects. The successful candidate will contribute to basin and play evaluations through research, data analysis and technical interpretation, supporting project delivery and enabling informed subsurface assessments.

Responsibilities:

  • Research/screening of public domain data in basins identified by TGS for evaluation
  • Data management and loading into various software
  • Learn/develop understanding of petroleum systems, industry practices, and application of seismic data
  • Ability to read and understand scientific reports and pull relevant information
  • Learn/develop understanding of well log data and interpretation
  • Understand integration of well and seismic data to tie interpretation regionally
  • Utilize proprietary TGS data to advance evaluations, including preparation of cross sections and maps
  • Actively participate in weekly team meetings and reporting of assigned project work
  • Preparation of presentation materials for designated projects
  • Take responsibility for your own safety, and comply with all instructions given regarding health, safety and the protection of the environment
  • Ensure the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment as required and report any hazards, accidents or injuries to your immediate supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum third year geoscience undergraduate program
  • Experience with geoscience software: familiarity with seismic interpretation, well sections, and subsurface mapping techniques is required.
  • Familiarity with well production and completion data is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as word, excel and PowerPoint required
  • Analytical in nature and attentive to details
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle various tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team setting while contributing to a positive and healthy work environment
